Lake Buchanan is a reservoir in Texas that was created in 1939 with the building of the Buchanan Dam on the Colorado River in Texas Hill Country. Lake Buchanan is the largest and the first of the Texas Highland Lakes, and offers an excellent weekend or vacation destination for recreational boaters, fishing and leisure just one hour's drive from Austin, Texas.
